Conservatory Cleaning FAQs

Will the cleaning damage my polycarbonate panels?

No. Soft-wash technique is designed for polycarbonate. I don’t use high-pressure jets that strip the surface. Method is gentle and effective.

What about bird droppings stuck on?

Soft-wash treatment + biocide handles bird droppings without scrubbing. I don’t damage panels by scrubbing — chemistry does the work.

Do you walk on conservatory roof?

Never. Conservatory roof panels are NOT designed to take weight. I use water-fed poles from ground level. Safer for the panels and for me.

Inside cleaning too?

Available on request. Most customers book exterior only — that’s where the visible dirt is. Internal cleaning is additional rate.

How often should I clean my conservatory?

Annually for visual upkeep. Every 6 months if heavily exposed (near trees, coastal location, heavy bird traffic). Bi-annual is overkill for most.

Conservatory gutters too?

Yes — and most cleaners forget these. The gutter line where the conservatory meets the main building gets blocked easily. Optional add-on, often essential.

Do you clean conservatory frames?

Yes. UPVC and aluminium frames cleaned during the visit. Any black streaks (algae) treated. Aluminium oxidation can be polished out separately if needed.

Yes. Heavily soiled conservatories may need 2-3 treatment cycles spaced over weeks. I assess on site and quote properly. No “I’ll just blast it with high pressure” shortcuts.

I have the gear (soft-wash equipment, water-fed pole reach), the technique (no roof walking), and the willingness. Most cleaners cut corners or refuse hard work — I do the job other cleaners pass on.

“What about Victorian conservatories with wood frames?”
Older wood-framed conservatories need extra care. I don’t pressure-wash wood. Soft-wash for glass + careful detailing of frames. Older sealants checked, recommend repair if compromised.
