How I clean — by hand, run by run

A vacuum pole from the pavement lifts the loose leaves, but the compacted silt in the corners and the moss packed behind the brackets stay where they are. That is why clearing by hand is my default — it is the only way to see the state of a gutter while you are emptying it. Where a roof is too high or the access is too tight for a ladder to be safe, I use vacuum poles from the ground instead. Same price either way.

What that means on the day:

  • Cleared by hand, run by run — joints, brackets and outlets checked as I go
  • Ladders with stabiliser feet — set safely, never resting on the gutter you are paying to have cleared
  • Photos before and after — you can see exactly what came out
  • One person, start to finish — the same person quotes the job, clears it and checks it
  • Downpipes flushed as standard — make sure water flows freely
  • Debris bagged and removed (or composted with permission)

Gutter Cleaning Airdrie FAQs

How often should I get my gutters cleaned?

Once a year minimum. Twice a year if there are mature trees within 10m. Pre-winter (September-November) is peak demand — gets winter rain prep done. Pre-spring (February-March) catches winter debris.

Can you show me before/after?

Yes. Photos on request. I’ll send pictures to your phone showing what I found and what I cleared. Especially useful for landlords and property managers.

Do you flush the downpipes too?

Yes, as standard. Every downpipe gets flushed through and the flow checked before I leave, because a clear gutter feeding a blocked downpipe still overflows. If one turns out to be properly blocked, clearing it is a separate job from £20, and it is free when you book gutters and fascias together.

Will you make a mess in my garden?

No. Everything that comes out goes straight into the bag. I sweep the surroundings before leaving. The HEPA filter means no dust cloud.

What about moss removal?

Yes — included. I scrape moss from gutter inner walls during the clean. Heavy moss may need biocide treatment afterward (extra service if needed).

Do you do commercial gutter cleaning?

Yes. Office buildings, retail premises, apartments, B&Bs. Recurring contracts with predictable invoicing. Public liability + employer’s liability documentation provided.

Can you reach high gutters without scaffolding?

Yes — up to 12m / 4-storey reach with extension poles. No scaffolding needed for most properties. For very tall commercial buildings, I use access platforms.

Are you insured?

Fully — Public Liability + Employer’s Liability. Working at height training. Companies House registered (SC811789).
